Shanna Brown Appointed Director of WGA's D.C. Office

DENVER -- The Western Governors' Association announced today that Shanna Brown has been appointed Director of its Washington D.C. office. WGA represents 19 states and three U.S.-Flag Pacific islands.

Brown has worked in the WGA's D.C. office since 2003, first as the deputy director and then as acting director, beginning in November 2008. As director, she works with the Administration and Congress to advance the Western Governors' policy objectives as federal laws, regulations and administrative decisions are being developed.

Pam Inmann, WGA Executive Director, said there are a number of critical issues Brown will be working on during this Congress, including those related to energy, transmission, water management, climate adaptation and forest health.

Prior to joining WGA's staff, Brown served as legislative assistant and then as legislative director to former U.S. Rep. Larry Combest of Texas. While on the Combest staff, Shanna was the point person for energy, natural resources, commerce, judicial and environmental policy issues.

The Western Governors' Association is an independent, nonprofit organization representing the governors of 19 states and three U.S.-Flag islands in the Pacific.
