Electric Rate Increase Requests

 In addition to customers whose power costs are directly linked to the wholesale market, a growing list of western utilities have receive and/or are request rate increases.  For example:

• Southern California Edison (7-15% increase)

• Pacific Gas & Electric (7-15% increase)

• Sierra Pacific (17% average increase)

• Tacoma Power (50% average increase)

• Snohomish County Public Utility District (35% increase)

• Clark County Public Utility District (21% increase)

• Seattle City Light (18% increase)

• Idaho Power Company (increase expected in May)

• Montana Power Company (21% increase)

• Portland General Electric (request withdrawn, novel energy saving plan)
