About Us

States and Provinces in the Western Interconnection have formed a new committee to provide input in
regional transmission planning and analysis in the interconnection. The Committee will consist of
representatives from each state and province in the Western Interconnection. Pending formal
announcement, the Committee is preparing to carry out tasks outlined in Topic B of the U.S. Department
of Energy transmission funding opportunity announcement issued in June 2009. A preliminary meeting
of the Steering Committee was held in Tempe, AZ on November 6, 2009.
