The Western Governors' Association hosted a Forest Health
Summit in 2003 to accelerate locally driven projects
that will prevent catastrophic wildfires by reducing fuel loads and restoring
lands. Participants heard from experts
in the field and participated in breakout sessions to develop recommendations
for the Governors, the Bush Administration and Congressional representatives to
consider.
