Definition

Use of electrical power to run transportation vehicles and related facilities

Scope

  • Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) which will charge from on-board systems but have the capability to plug into a source connected to the grid.
  • Cars, light-duty vehicles, buses and trucks.
  • Truck stop electrification.

Issues to be addressed

  • Battery capability and likely development progression.
  • Impact to the grid.
  • Infrastructure requirements for truck stop electrification
