2:10 Background on Indian Land and Water Claims and Status of Pending Claims

During this session, we will discuss the history of Indian land and water claims, beginning with a brief explanation of the settlement process and of settlements concluded to date. We will then provide a picture of the scope of ongoing and potential future land and water settlements that will likely come before Congress in the near future. The discussion will conclude with the anticipated fiscal impacts of these settlements.
