August 13, 2001 Western Governors Annual Meeting The governors discussed with public and private experts
conceptual plans outlining possible enhancements to the Western Interconnection
that would help resolve the Western energy crisis and prevent future problems.
Governor Kempthorne appointed Jack Davis, President and CEO of Pinnacle
West, and Marsha Smith, Chair of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, to
co-chair development of the plans.
