2024 Western Prosperity Forum

The 2024 Western Prosperity Forum, hosted in Phoenix by Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs at the Arizona State University Thunderbird School of Global Management on April 23 -24, will focus on locally-led adaptation as well as community and economic development efforts to ensure the success of all communities. Panels will highlight strategies and tools to leverage modern economic opportunities, foster resilience, and achieve sustainable and equitable economic growth.

Celebrate the West

The application window for the 2023 Celebrate the West art competition are due by April 1, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. MST. The annual competition, now in its ninth year, challenges high school students to create original works inspired by their state. Students are encouraged to think about what the West means to them, what it means to call the West home, what they learned about its complex past, and what they imagine its future may look like.

Decarbonizing the West Webinar Series

As part of Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon’s Decarbonizing the West initiative, Reice Haase, the Deputy Executive Director of the North Dakota Industrial Commission, and Madeleine Lewis, a licensed attorney and policy research scientist at the University of Wyoming's School of Energy Resources, joined WGA for a webinar in which they explored strategies for mitigating the risks and liability challenges that may be prohibitive to the development of geologic carbon storage projects.

The fourth and final workshop of the Western Governors’ Association’s Decarbonizing the West Initiative, hosted by Oregon Governor Tina Kotek explored both natural and technological strategies for carbon reduction, utilization, and storage.
